Iconic Buddha head statue at Ayutthaya

This iconic statue of the Buddha’s head is often featured in various photographs:


All that remained of this sandstone Buddha image is part of its head, while the body had disappeared. The head is in the style of the Ayutthaya period. It lies beneath a Bodhi tree beside the minor Wihans.
