Tucked along one of the sidelanes of the Amphawa floating market facing the river there is an art gallery by the artist Vinit Jittana. The artist himself was painting in the gallery when we entered the gallery.
He looked up as I was about to take his photo, gave me a smile and continued on with his painting as per the picture below:
What I find amazing about this artist is that he placed a sign indicating that we are allowed to take pictures of his paintings. This is quite unusual because most artists are very protective of their works and would not like it if people took pictures of their works without buying. But this artist, Vinit Jittana is a person who is very willing to share.
Below are some of the pictures being displayed at the gallery in Amphawa floating market:
Below is showing to us how life by the river would have looked before development comes in:
A more abstract style of how Amphawa floating market is:
Below are little souvenirs being sold in the art gallery:
And brief background about the artist Vinit Jittana:
I always have great admiration for someone who have the courage to pursue their dream and use their talents as a livelihood as well as to do work to benefit others.
It is definitely not an easy path to follow as it is often met with uncertainties, challenges, and self doubt.

How to get to the Vinit’s art gallery in Amphawa floating market:
Amphawa floating market is open on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are coming into Amphawa floating market via the entrance located near a school, go straight and you would arrive at the bridge which is marked as “Amphawa floating market” as per below:
Right after you cross the bridge (usually very crowded), turn left (where the river is now on left side). Walk along the sidelane where the river is on your left…. go straight all the way. The gallery is located quite near the end point.
