Thai Language

I’ve been travelling to Thailand for about 20 years and stayed here for more than 5 years. Before I moved to Thailand, learning the language had been a challenge and there were various ‘hacks’ and creative ways I tried to explore to improve my Thai language. Nowadays, I can read a little, and in terms of speaking, I am able to speak and be understood by Thai people even though I still have to work to get my tone pronounciation more accurately.

Check out all the articles I’ve written over the years of various ways that I have explored to learn the Thai language on my own before I moved to Thailand:

Thai language videos:

Note update in 2024: When I uploaded the videos below in an old YouTube channel, it was hard to find any online resources to learn Thai language. However, now there are tonnes of videos available in YouTube which you can explore to learn Thai language easily and effectively.

Thai language taught by En Asri from Southern Thailand (who can converse in Malay as well due to the proximity of his location with Malaysia).  This resulted from a collaboration between the Malaysian and Thai government.

I was fortunate enough to manage to video tape one of the session. Herein are the videos, arranged in chronological order and uploaded in YouTube. As and when I can, I’ve tried to include captions to make it easier for the reader to grasp the words.
